Day By Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve - Distance: ~270 km | Drive Time: 5–6 hrs

    After your warm welcome by Nature Romp Safaris, embark on a scenic overland journey through the Great Rift Valley escarpment, pausing at a panoramic viewpoint for photos. Arrive at Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destination.

    Enjoy your first evening game drive across the acacia-dotted plains in search of the Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo—as well as cheetahs, hyenas, and giraffes.

  • Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

    Spend the day exploring the diverse habitats of the reserve—riverine forests, open savannah, and seasonal marshes. Witness dramatic predator-prey interactions in this rich predator territory, particularly around the Mara River.

  • Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park - Distance: ~410 km | Drive Time: 7–8 hrs

    Begin the day with a dawn game drive before departing north through the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru, a UNESCO-listed ecosystem. Stop en route for lunch and photographic moments.

    Enjoy an afternoon safari in this birdwatcher’s paradise, renowned for its flamingo-lined shores, white rhinos, and Rothschild giraffes.

  • Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha - Distance: ~70 km | Drive Time: 1.5 hrs

    After breakfast, explore Hells Gate National Park, known for its geothermal cliffs, gorges, and hiking trails. Continue to Amboseli, passing local villages and the rolling plains of southern Kenya.

    Arrive for an evening game drive with the chance to see elephants silhouetted against Mount Kilimanjaro.

  • Day 6: Full-Day Safari in Amboseli

    Rise early for sunrise photography with Kilimanjaro in the background. Spend the day tracking large herds of elephants and other wildlife such as Masai giraffes, wildebeests, ostriches, and hyenas near the park’s wetlands.

    Amboseli’s unique landscape offers superb close-range wildlife photography.

  • Day 7: Amboseli – Namanga Border – Arusha, Tanzania - Distance: ~190 km | Drive Time: 4–5 hrs

    Enjoy a final early morning game drive before exiting toward the Namanga Border Post. After clearing immigration, continue to Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania.

  • Day 8: Arusha – Tarangire National Park - Distance: ~120 km | Drive Time: 2.5 hrs

    Depart for Tarangire National Park, a biodiversity hotspot famous for its massive baobab trees and elephant population.

    Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River, a crucial water source in the dry season. Expect to see elands, oryx, buffalo, and more than 500 bird species.

  • Day 9: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park - Distance: ~90 km | Drive Time: 1.5 hrs

    Look out for the tree-climbing lions, blue monkeys, flamingoes, and hot springs. This park boasts diverse microhabitats in a compact area.

  • Day 10: Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park - Distance: ~250 km | Drive Time: 5–6 hrs

    Depart via the highlands of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enter Serengeti National Park through Naabi Hill Gate, where the open plains stretch endlessly.

    En route game drive through the Seronera Valley, a predator-rich zone.

  • Day 11: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti National Park

  • Day 12: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater Rim (via Olduvai Gorge) - Distance: ~150 km | Drive Time: 4–5 hrs

    Morning en-route game drive as you exit Serengeti.

    Reach the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, a caldera rich in biodiversity, with epic views into the crater.

  • Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

    Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s greatest natural wildlife sanctuaries.

    Enjoy a 6-hour crater floor game drive with opportunities to spot black rhinos, lions, jackals, elephants, and flamingoes.

    Return to Arusha for a relaxed evening.

  • Day 14: Arusha – Nairobi (by Road or Flight) - Distance: ~275 km | Drive Time: 6–7 hrs by shuttle

    After breakfast, transfer back to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, with a drop-off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
