Day By Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve (Approx. 270 km / 5–6 hrs)

    Jambo! Karibu Kenya!

    You’ll be warmly welcomed by your Nature Romp Safaris driver/guide at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel/residence. Depart for the iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve, with a stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint for scenic photos.

    After lunch in Narok, continue to the reserve and enjoy your first afternoon game drive, tracking elephants, lions, giraffes, and more across the rolling savannah.

  • Day 2: Full-Day Safari – Maasai Mara

    After breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch at the Mara River, famous for its crocodiles, hippos, and seasonal wildebeest migration crossing point.

    The Masai Mara offers one of the highest wildlife concentrations in Africa and is well-suited for close-range photography thanks to its expansive road network.

  • Day 3: Maasai Mara – Lake Nakuru (Approx. 250 km / 5 hrs)

    Enjoy an early sunrise game drive, then depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, with views of Mount Longonot and Lake Naivasha en route.

    Arrive in Nakuru in the evening and settle in for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 4: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha (Approx. 70 km / 1.5 hrs)

    Start your day with a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru, famous for its pink flamingos, rhinos, and tree-climbing lions.

    Later, depart for Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch. Optional activities in the afternoon include:

    • A boat safari to see hippos and aquatic birds
    • A guided walk at Crescent Island Sanctuary
    • A game drive or cycling at Hell’s Gate National Park

  • Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park (Approx. 300 km / 6–7 hrs)

    Begin with a nature walk or optional morning game drive at Hell’s Gate. Afterward, drive south toward Amboseli National Park, famous for its backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

  • Day 6: Full-Day Safari – Amboseli National Park

    Spend the day exploring Amboseli’s swamps and open plains, known for large herds of elephants and clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting).

    Other sightings include cheetahs, zebras, hyenas, buffalos, and a variety of bird species.

  • Day 7: Amboseli – Namanga Border – Arusha (Approx. 190 km / 4–5 hrs)

    Enjoy a short early game drive, then head to Namanga Border where your Tanzanian guide awaits. Cross into Tanzania and continue to Arusha, a safari hub city.

    Overnight at Christina House (Bed & Breakfast).

  • Day 8: Arusha – Tarangire National Park (Approx. 120 km / 2–3 hrs)

    After breakfast, begin your Tanzania safari with a visit to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds, baobab trees, and Tarangire River ecosystem.

    Wildlife highlights include lions, cheetahs, buffalo, impalas, giraffes, oryx, and over 500 bird species.

  • Day 9: Tarangire – Lake Manyara National Park (Approx. 70 km / 1.5 hrs)

    After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but wildlife-rich gem with diverse habitats.

    It’s famous for its tree-climbing lions, hot springs, large elephant populations, and vibrant flamingo flocks.

  • Day 10: Manyara – Serengeti National Park (Approx. 205 km / 5–6 hrs)

    Drive to Serengeti National Park, one of the most iconic wildlife parks in the world. En route, stop at Olduvai Gorge Museum (optional, $40 pp), an important archaeological site.

    Enjoy an evening game drive across the endless plains, spotting lions, leopards, elephants, wildebeest, and more.

  • Day 11: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Approx. 145 km / 3 hrs)

    Start your morning with a final game drive in Serengeti before continuing toward Ngorongoro.

    Stop at the Olduvai Gorge (if missed on Day 10), then proceed to the crater rim for sunset views.

    Dinner and overnight at Simba Campsite or lodge.

  • Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha (Approx. 190 km / 4–5 hrs)

    Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wildlife amphitheater and UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a 6-hour game drive.

    This is the best place in East Africa to spot the rare black rhino, as well as lions, elephants, hyenas, and flamingos.

    Return to Arusha in the evening.

    Overnight at Christina House (Bed & Breakfast).

  • Day 13: Arusha – Nairobi (Approx. 275 km / 6–7 hrs)

    After breakfast, meet our representative for your transfer to Nairobi, either by shuttle bus or private vehicle. Drop-off at your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
