A 3-day Masai Mara safari offers an unforgettable Kenyan wildlife adventure, featuring multiple game drives to see the Big Five, abundant birdlife, and the iconic Great Wildebeest Migration. This popular tour, departing from Nairobi, includes a stop at the Great Rift Valley, comfortable tented camp accommodation with meals, and an optional Masai village visit or hot air balloon ride.
Your adventure begins with a warm pick-up by Nature Romp Safaris from your Nairobi location — be it the airport, hotel, or residence. You’ll then be transferred to our base office for a quick safari orientation before hitting the open road.
Your overland journey to the Maasai Mara traverses some of Kenya’s most dramatic scenery, including a stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint, where you can admire panoramic views of this vast geological marvel. As you descend into the Rift and continue through Narok Town, a cultural gateway to Maasailand, you’ll stop for lunch and refreshment before heading deeper into the savannah.
As you cross into Maasai Mara territory, the landscape opens into iconic golden plains — and so does your introduction to the wild. Upon arrival, check in at your safari lodge or tented camp, followed by a short rest.
Later in the afternoon, embark on your first game drive, catching the golden hour as you spot your first wildlife — from elephant herds roaming in the distance to lion prides lounging under acacia trees, and graceful giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, cheetahs, and more making your welcome into the reserve unforgettable. Your drive continues into the early evening before heading back to the lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, set out for a full day of uninterrupted wildlife viewing across the expansive plains of the Maasai Mara — one of Africa’s most celebrated ecosystems.
Spend your day tracking the Big Five (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard), as well as a stunning array of other wildlife including topi, gazelles, ostriches, hyenas, and jackals. You’ll follow winding game tracks that lead to prime wildlife hotspots, with one key stop at the Mara River — a natural border where hippos bask and crocodiles patrol the waters.
If your visit coincides with the Great Wildebeest Migration (typically between July and October), you may witness the awe-inspiring river crossings — a raw, real-time spectacle of survival and instinct. Few safari moments compare.
Midday, enjoy a picnic lunch in the heart of the bush, surrounded by nature’s sounds and sights. Afterward, continue exploring until the sun sets over the plains.
You may choose to enhance your experience with an optional visit to a local Maasai village ($10 per person), offering a cultural encounter with one of East Africa’s most iconic tribes. Return to the lodge for a hearty dinner and your second night in the wild.
Enjoy your breakfast, take time to freshen up, pack your belongings, and check out. Your guide will then drive you back to Nairobi, retracing the Rift Valley landscapes.
Upon arrival in Nairobi, time permitting, you can opt for a short city tour at your own cost — visiting attractions such as the Giraffe Centre, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, or Nairobi National Park. Finally, your driver will drop you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable Kenyan safari experience.

I just completed my 4-day trip to Mount Kenya and I’m very satisfied with all the services provided. I received excellent assistance throughout the entire process, from start to finish. I would strongly recommend choosing them if you’re planning a trip to Kenya—I would definitely choose them again if I return.Posted on Ajith Vasudevan2025.03.03.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Nature Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya, in Feb 2025. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay very good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and I decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the Nairobi airport and the next day early morning Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, prior to starting the safari. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a positive experience all the time. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving (safe driving). He was always on time. If i had to do anything differently, its only about selecting the stay option at one place (Naivasha). Although the accommodation was very good, it was pretty far from the National park. Drawing the route map and time to take to this palace would have helped me giving an additional 4 hours for bird photography. Thank you Yvonne and Maxwell. I surely plan to do another safari with Nature Romp in 2026Posted on Charles Otieno2024.11.26.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. initially asked for 3 quotations for my 7-days safari in Kenya (Masai Mara-Amboseli-Nakuru-Naivasha). All 3 tours companies replied me right away but Ms Yvonne Ateka from Nature Romp Safaris was by far the most outstanding and patient in answering dozens of my questions concerning visa, safety, accommodation, preparation, etc… She was also extremely flexible in helping me changing my safari schedule due to my unexpected 2-days delay at transit airport New Delhi. The entire tour was fascinating!!! It was the very best trip I’ve ever had (I’ve travelled 30+ countries so far)! Kenyan nature and wildlife is breathtakingly beautiful even more than I’ve imagined before… Freddy was very caring, knowledgeable and a super offroad driver. Thank you so much again Yvonne & Freddy for making my trip in Kenya a great experience! I would wholeheartedly recommend you guys for all my friends travelling to you amazing country!Posted on Paola2024.03.09.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
