Embark on a cross-border journey through Africa’s top safari destinations—a thrilling blend of Kenya’s vibrant ecosystems and Tanzania’s iconic wilderness. This carefully curated safari offers daily game drives, Big Five encounters, and breathtaking landscapes, making it the ultimate adventure for wildlife lovers and photographers alike.

Day By Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park (Approx. 160 km / 3 hrs drive)

    Jambo! Karibu Kenya! Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your Nature Romp Safaris driver-guide.

    Depart the bustling capital and head northwest through the scenic Great Rift Valley to the breathtaking Lake Nakuru National Park. After check-in and lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive in this stunning park, renowned for its rhinoceros sanctuary, Rothschild’s giraffe, and large flocks of pink flamingos.

    The park also features unique habitats like euphorbia forests, yellow-barked acacia woodlands, and supports over 450 bird species and diverse mammal populations, including buffalo, tree-climbing lions, and waterbuck.

  • Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve (Approx. 300 km / 5–6 hrs drive)

    After breakfast, journey south to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, part of the larger Serengeti-Mara ecosystem.

    Arrive in time for lunch, then head out on an afternoon game drive in the golden savannah plains—home to the Big Five and large herds of wildebeest, elephants, and zebras.

    Dinner and overnight at the lodge or tented camp of your choice.

  • Day 3: Full-Day Safari in the Maasai Mara

    Optional: Begin with a hot air balloon safari for unparalleled aerial views of the Mara plains (pre-booking required).

    Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch, exploring the richly populated savannas and making your way to the Mara River, a key crossing point during the Great Migration (July–October). Capture crocodiles basking, hippos wallowing, and predator-prey interactions.

    Dinner and overnight at your chosen accommodation.

  • Day 4: Masai Mara – Isebania Border – Serengeti National Park (Approx. 290 km / 7–8 hrs incl. border time)

    Start your day with an early breakfast and a final morning game drive. Then head south to Isebania Border, where you’ll complete immigration and continue into Tanzania.

    Upon entering the Serengeti, enjoy a game drive or guided nature walk (depending on arrival time). The Serengeti’s vast plains are a photographer’s dream, with sweeping views and abundant wildlife.

    Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti lodge/camp of your choice.

  • Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive – Serengeti National Park

    Optional: Begin with a Serengeti balloon safari at sunrise for breathtaking panoramic photography.

    Spend a full day on extensive game drives with picnic lunches. The central and southern Serengeti offer some of the most dramatic wildlife sightings, especially the wildebeest migration from April–June. Spot prides of lions, leopards in trees, elephant herds, giraffes, warthogs, and more.

    Dinner and overnight at a Serengeti campsite or lodge.

  • Day 6: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater (Approx. 145 km / 3–4 hrs drive)

    After breakfast and a final morning game drive, travel southeast toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a picnic lunch en route. Arrive in the evening at your lodge or campsite situated on the crater rim, offering scenic views of the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera.

    Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro lodge or campsite.

  • Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha (Approx. 190 km / 4–5 hrs drive)

    After an early breakfast, descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 6-hour safari through this wildlife-rich natural amphitheater.

    Known for its dense concentrations of large mammals, including the endangered black rhino, big cats, hippos, and elephants, this area offers unmatched game viewing within a stunning, compact landscape.

    Later, ascend and drive to Arusha, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel.

    Overnight in Arusha at Christina House or similar.

  • Day 8: Arusha – Nairobi (Approx. 275 km / 6–7 hrs drive, depending on transfer type)

    After breakfast, your local partner will transfer you to Nairobi via shuttle or private transfer (at an extra cost. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and taken to the airport or your Nairobi hotel.
