Day By Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park (175 km, 3 to 4 hours)

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel for a scenic drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, situated in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, check in and enjoy a delicious lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive through the park. This stunning park, famous for its birdlife, is home to over 450 species, including large flocks of flamingos that turn the lakeshore pink. The park is also one of the few places in Africa where both white and black rhinos can be spotted, alongside rare Rothschild giraffes, lions, and leopards. Other wildlife includes gazelles, impalas, waterbucks, and playful baboons. You’ll spend the night at a comfortable safari lodge or camp, where the sounds of the wild will accompany your evening.

  • Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve (300 km, 5 to 6 hours)

After breakfast, we’ll head to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s top wildlife destination. Located in the southwestern part of the country, the Masai Mara is part of the vast Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania, where the famous annual wildebeest migration occurs. Upon arrival, check in and enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive. In the evening, unwind at the campfire, sharing stories of the day’s safari adventures.

  • Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Your day starts with an early breakfast and a full day of exploration in the Masai Mara. With packed lunches, you’ll journey across the vast plains and rocky outcrops, searching for the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. You may also spot cheetah, giraffes, hyenas, warthogs, jackals, and a variety of antelope such as Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, waterbuck, and hartebeest. The Mara River is home to large crocodiles, and in the waterholes, you’ll find hippos lounging. You can also opt for an exciting hot air balloon safari (US$425 per person), providing an unforgettable aerial view of the wildlife and savannah.

  • Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve – Serengeti National Park (350 km, 6 to 7 hours)

Today, we’ll drive to the Isebania border to cross into Tanzania, where you’ll continue your safari adventure in the Serengeti National Park. Famous for its endless plains, the Serengeti is one of Africa’s largest and most celebrated wildlife areas. Spend the next two nights at a comfortable lodge or tented camp in the Seronera Valley, a prime area for game viewing. Here, you’ll find abundant wildlife, including big cats like lions and cheetahs.

  • Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park

A full day is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti’s vast landscapes and diverse wildlife. Look out for giraffes, gazelles, wildebeest, hartebeests, and elands, while hippos and crocodiles can be found in the river’s pools. Serengeti is famous for its lion prides and cheetah hunts. Depending on the season, you may also witness the awe-inspiring wildebeest migration. If you desire a unique experience, you can opt for a hot air balloon safari (US$599 per person) to drift over the plains at dawn.

  • Day 6: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area (215 km, 3 to 4 hours)

After breakfast, depart the Serengeti for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This highland region is home to the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The rich volcanic soils make it a lush grazing ground for wildlife, earning it the title ‘Garden of Eden.’ During your descent into the crater, you’ll have a picnic lunch and enjoy a game drive on the crater floor, where you may see black rhinos, lions, leopards, and hyenas. In the evening, ascend to the crater rim and enjoy a stunning sunset before heading to your lodge or camp.

  • Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Arusha - Nairobi (450 km, 7 to 8 hours)

After breakfast, we will drive to Arusha for lunch at Arusha Coffee Lodge before continuing to the Namanga border. Here, we will cross back into Kenya and head back to Nairobi, where your safari adventure will end in the early evening.
