Step into a world of misty mountains, dense forests, and elevated wildlife encounters with this enchanting 2-day safari to Aberdare National Park. Unlike the sunbaked savannahs of Kenya’s more famous reserves, Aberdares offers a unique alpine safari experience—where tree-dwelling lodges, mountain elephants, and nocturnal animal viewing create a setting right out of a storybook.
Nestled in the heart of Kenya’s lush central highlands, Treetops Lodge—once visited by Queen Elizabeth II—offers a rare opportunity to witness wildlife from above, overlooking floodlit waterholes and salt licks. From scenic drives through tea plantations to night-time animal activity rarely seen in other parks, this safari is a quiet escape into the wild’s more mysterious corners.
Safari Highlights:
Your journey begins early in Nairobi, with a pick-up from your hotel, residence, or the airport. Travel northward into the cooler altitudes of the Kenyan Highlands, passing rolling hills blanketed in tea and coffee estates, and picturesque rural settlements.
Arrive at Treetops Lodge, your elevated retreat nestled among ancient trees and overlooking a busy wildlife watering hole. After a warm welcome and lunch, your safari begins—not with a vehicle, but from the comfort of the lodge’s viewing decks.
From your tree-level vantage point, you may spot elephants, buffalo, bushbucks, and even leopards, especially as dusk falls. The lodge’s floodlit salt lick and waterhole offer one of the best locations in Kenya for observing nocturnal wildlife behavior in real-time.
Dinner is served at the lodge, after which you’re free to spend the evening watching nature’s nighttime drama unfold right beneath your feet. Keep an eye out for hyenas, forest hogs, and other elusive species that emerge only after dark.
Wake up to the sounds of the dawn chorus echoing through the Aberdare forest. From your canopy-level balcony, witness the wilderness awakening—colobus monkeys swing through branches, birds fill the air with song, and wildlife stir near the waterhole in the misty morning light.
After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the highland landscape, you’ll check out and begin your return journey to Nairobi. Along the way, enjoy a relaxing lunch stop amidst the serene plantation scenery, offering one last taste of Kenya’s verdant north.
Upon arrival back in Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your preferred location—be it your hotel, residence, or the airport.

I just completed my 4-day trip to Mount Kenya and I’m very satisfied with all the services provided. I received excellent assistance throughout the entire process, from start to finish. I would strongly recommend choosing them if you’re planning a trip to Kenya—I would definitely choose them again if I return.Posted on Ajith Vasudevan2025.03.03.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After screening and talking to about 5 travel operators, I decided to go with Nature Romp for an 8 day safari in Kenya, in Feb 2025. Their rate was competitive and selection of lodges to stay very good. Initially I was skeptical due to less reviews about Nature Romp in public domain. However when I talked to Yvonne, I understood that theirs is a fairly new company and I decided to go with them. We (my daughter and I) opted for a private tour covering Masai Mara, Nakuru and Amboseli. We were received at the Nairobi airport and the next day early morning Yvonne, Lucy and Maxwell (guide cum driver) welcomed us at the hotel, prior to starting the safari. We instantly felt at home and from then onwards it was a positive experience all the time. Our guide Maxwell is an excellent guide. He knew about birds and animals, their behavior and diligent in driving (safe driving). He was always on time. If i had to do anything differently, its only about selecting the stay option at one place (Naivasha). Although the accommodation was very good, it was pretty far from the National park. Drawing the route map and time to take to this palace would have helped me giving an additional 4 hours for bird photography. Thank you Yvonne and Maxwell. I surely plan to do another safari with Nature Romp in 2026Posted on Charles Otieno2024.11.26.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. initially asked for 3 quotations for my 7-days safari in Kenya (Masai Mara-Amboseli-Nakuru-Naivasha). All 3 tours companies replied me right away but Ms Yvonne Ateka from Nature Romp Safaris was by far the most outstanding and patient in answering dozens of my questions concerning visa, safety, accommodation, preparation, etc… She was also extremely flexible in helping me changing my safari schedule due to my unexpected 2-days delay at transit airport New Delhi. The entire tour was fascinating!!! It was the very best trip I’ve ever had (I’ve travelled 30+ countries so far)! Kenyan nature and wildlife is breathtakingly beautiful even more than I’ve imagined before… Freddy was very caring, knowledgeable and a super offroad driver. Thank you so much again Yvonne & Freddy for making my trip in Kenya a great experience! I would wholeheartedly recommend you guys for all my friends travelling to you amazing country!Posted on Paola2024.03.09.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
