3 Days Tanzania Safari : Lake Manyara & Ngorongoro Crater Adventure

Your safari adventure begins early as we collect you from your hotel, residence, or the airport in Arusha. We will drive west to Lake Manyara National Park, a stunning location in the Great Rift Valley. The journey will give you glimpses of the Tanzanian landscape as you pass through towns and villages.

Upon arrival at the park, you’ll be treated to a picnic lunch before embarking on your first game drive. The park is famous for its birdlife, with over 400 species known to nest and feed around the lake. Away from the water, you may spot wildebeest, zebras, waterbucks, impalas, and giraffes, along with many other animals.

For a unique experience, you can take an optional canoe ride on the lake for a different perspective of the wildlife, including stunning opportunities for photography. This activity is available for an extra $60 per person. After a full day of wildlife exploration, you’ll head to your camp or lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay.

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll venture out again for a morning game drive around the shores of Lake Manyara. The morning hours offer the best opportunity to observe the animals at their most active, with the cool air and early sunlight creating ideal conditions for wildlife watching and photography.

After the game drive, you’ll return to your accommodation for lunch, after which your luggage will be loaded into the tour vehicle, and you’ll head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive is short, but scenic, passing through areas that are part of Tanzania’s conservation efforts to protect its unique wildlife.

Arriving at the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the caldera—the remains of a collapsed volcano, which now hosts an abundance of wildlife. After a day of exploration, you’ll have dinner and spend the night at a camp or lodge on the crater rim, enjoying stunning vistas over the expansive basin below.

Start your final day with an early breakfast, followed by a game drive on the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is often called one of the best places on Earth to observe wildlife. You’ll encounter a variety of species, including buffalo, rhinos, hippos, elephants, wildebeest, and many more in their natural habitat.

Your game drive will last around six hours, giving you plenty of time to witness the incredible biodiversity of the crater. A picnic lunch will be served on the crater floor, offering a memorable dining experience amidst the wildlife.

After your time in the crater, you’ll begin your journey back to Arusha. The drive will take you through the beautiful Tanzanian countryside, before arriving in the regional capital by the afternoon. Depending on your travel plans, your driver can drop you off at your hotel, residence, or the airport for your onward journey.
