Tour Overview

Day By Day Itinerary

  • Day 1: Mombasa – Tsavo East National Park (Approx. 250 km | 4.5–5 hrs drive)

Your safari kicks off with a morning pick-up from your Mombasa hotel or Moi International Airport, followed by a scenic drive inland to Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s oldest and largest conservation areas. The journey unfolds across changing landscapes, from coastal plains to the wild heart of Tsavo.

As you enter the park, your first game drive begins en route to the lodge, where wildlife sightings may include dust-red elephants, zebras, buffaloes, lions, and lesser kudus. Tsavo East is famed for its “Man-Eaters of Tsavo” legend and is home to over 500 bird species and a spectacular diversity of game.

Arrive in time for lunch at the iconic Voi Safari Lodge, perched atop a cliff with sweeping views of the wilderness. Later in the afternoon, embark on another game drive across the open plains as the sun sets. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

  • Day 2: Tsavo East – Amboseli National Park (Approx. 315 km | 5 hrs drive)

Rise early for breakfast before checking out. Enjoy a final morning game drive through Tsavo East as you exit the park and begin your journey westward to Amboseli National Park, located at the base of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro.

Arrive around midday and proceed to Manjaro Tented Camp, where you’ll check in and enjoy a warm lunch. After a short rest, head out for a late afternoon game drive, where you’ll encounter large herds of elephants, buffalos, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and possibly even elusive predators like lions or leopards.

Amboseli is not only known for its wildlife but also for its photogenic scenery, especially when Kilimanjaro’s snowcapped peak emerges from the clouds. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 3: Amboseli – Lake Naivasha (Approx. 325 km | 5–6 hrs drive via Rift Valley Viewpoint)

After an early breakfast, check out and enjoy a final morning game drive as you depart Amboseli. The journey takes you north through the Great Rift Valley, where a stop at a scenic viewpoint offers sweeping views of ancient escarpments and volcanic terrain.

Arrive in Lake Naivasha in time for lunch at Taphe Guest Resort, a serene retreat near the lake’s edge. In the afternoon, head to Hell’s Gate National Park for an active twist to your safari — choose to explore the dramatic landscape on foot, bike, or even rock climb among cliffs, gorges, and geothermal features. Visit the nearby Olkaria Geothermal Power Plant to learn about the region’s volcanic energy.

Return to the resort for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 4: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Reserve (Approx. 240 km | 5 hrs drive)

Fuel up with breakfast before setting off southwest to the legendary Maasai Mara, a journey that takes you through lush farmlands and rolling savannahs.

Arrive at Enchoro Wildlife Camp in time for lunch and a short rest. In the late afternoon, venture into the Mara plains for your first game drive in this iconic reserve, home to lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, and many other species.

As the golden sun sets over the Mara, return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 5: Full Day Safari in Maasai Mara

Rise with the sun for a morning game drive, when the bush is most alive and predators are likely on the move. Return for breakfast, then set out for a full-day safari with packed lunch to maximize your time in the wild.

Today, track the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—alongside herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and giraffes. If your visit falls between July and October, you may witness the breathtaking wildebeest migration across the Mara River, where crocodiles lie in wait and survival plays out before your eyes.

Enjoy your picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve, surrounded by raw nature. The day also offers chances to spot cheetahs, hyenas, jackals, and a stunning variety of birds of prey such as eagles, vultures, and ostriches. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 6: Maasai Mara – Nairobi (Approx. 275 km | 5–6 hrs drive)

After your final breakfast in the wild, check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Optionally, if you have an evening flight, you can enjoy an extra morning game drive with a packed lunch, departing the Mara around midday.

Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon (between 3:00–6:00 pm, depending on departure time). Enjoy lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant (optional, at your own cost) before your guide drops you at either your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight, concluding your incredible Kenya safari expedition.
