Travel Documentation:

VISAS

Tourists visiting  Kenya must have a valid visa. Your passport must also be valid for at least six months after the date of your arrival in the country.

All passengers travelling to Kenya from countries that require visas to enter Kenya shall be required to apply and obtain E-visa before boarding an aircraft as no visas shall be issued on arrival.

Electronic visa application for Kenya:

The visa application process involves uploading your passport picture along with your passport photograph. Your visa shall be issued approximately five days after you register. You shall be required to print a copy of your electronic visa, bring it with you for presentation along with your passport on arrival in Kenya. Health and Vaccinations:

  • Consult your healthcare provider to discuss recommended vaccinations and medications for your trip, including malaria prophylaxis. yellow fever certificate is mandatory when entering Tanzania so make sure you carry the certificates with you.

Clothing and Packing:

  • Pack lightweight, neutral-coloured clothing for the daytime safari activities to blend into the natural surroundings. Long-sleeved shirts and trousers are advisable for protection against insects and the sun.
  • Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen with a high SPF rating.
  • Comfortable closed-toe shoes for walking safaris and a pair of sturdy, comfortable sandals for downtime.
  • A lightweight, waterproof jacket for unexpected rain showers.

Electrical and Connectivity:

  • The electrical voltage in Kenya and Tanzania is typically 220-240V. You may need plug adapters or voltage converters, so ensure your electronics are compatible.
  • While some lodges and camps offer Wi-Fi, it can be limited. Consider purchasing a local SIM card for data access if necessary.

Money and Currency:

  • The local currency in Kenya is the Kenyan Shilling (KES), and in Tanzania, it's the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). Credit cards are not widely accepted, so carry some cash in USD for emergencies and souvenirs. Make sure the USD series are from 2009.
  • Inform your bank of your travel plans to avoid any issues with your cards while abroad.

Photography Equipment:

  • Bring your camera, spare batteries, memory cards, and any necessary lenses for capturing the incredible wildlife and landscapes.
